ACCLES & POLLOCK -- ARCHERS' ROUNDICATOR
Good advice! These kinds of things tend to be readily available in the beginning and then disappear over time. And, being made of cardboard, they don't stand up well for the long haul.
I couldn't help but get out my
CD to the
Society of Archer-Antiquaries Journals and re-read Edward Hart's excellent article "
The Accles & Pollock Steel Bows & Arrows", Volume 43 [2000], pp. 37. Accles & Pollock was a fascinating firm. Their bows were certainly popular. The firm had an huge impact on archery.
This brings another question to mind. Is the Society planning to produce a CD for the more current volumes of the Journal from volume 46 to present [volume 52] and an updated index? While I would be hard pressed to give up my hard copies of the Journal, the CD's do facilitate research!
