 Triangular target?
Several years ago I read of a Eastern style archery target that was in the shape of a triangle. It had a point upward and was divided into three areas of equal height. It represented a man on horse-back. The base was the horse. The center was the man. The top was his head. It was scored one point for the horse, two for the man and three for his head.
I am trying to find a source for information on this target or anything like it. Can anyone provide some information?
Thank you for any help you can give.

The nearest I can find to your description is Plate 10 within 'Saracen Archery', where a pointed, lozenge shaped target is being shot at by a horsed archer. There is some textual reference to targets in the variious Chapters but nothing specific that I can see.

John; you are probably referring to the Turkish "puta" target. Examples I know are not exactly triangular, but wider at the base and narrowed at the top, and they are sometimes referred to as representing an enemy on horseback.
Unfortunately I am not at home right now, so my resources are limited.
Have a look at his: http://www.turkishculture.org/print.php?ID=748 and maybe try a search of "puta" or "puta target" or "puta archery", but be aware that this is also a nasty word in Spanish, so you might get some strange results as well.
Greetings, Jan.

Greetings and Merry Christmas to all.
I had a zerox copy of "Saracen Archery" in a binder. But, can not find it at this time. I think it is stored somewhere. Any chance of scanning that illustration?
Thanks
John

Greetings and a Merry Christmas.
No, I am familiar with the Turkish "puta" target and have seen several illustrations of it. But, that is not what I am trying to find.
And thanks for the warning on "puta" in Spanish. But, I grew up in Southern California near the border with Mexico and know that term.
Thanks
John
